Description
In this episode we welcome Craig Salazar, the Producer and Co-Host of “The Steph & Craig Show” podcast. Being a Xennial/elder Millennial, Craig shares how his childhood closely resembled a typical GenX childhood. Growing up in the town of Grantsville, Utah, which is situated in a valley surrounded by beautiful mountains, Craig spent his formative years playing baseball and riding his bike with friends all over town. He touches on how the lack of emotional development that is common for many GenX and elder Millennial boys was dealt with through physical altercations with his older brothers as well as friends at school. His parents divorce resulted in sporadic involvement from his dad in his life, which just added to the disconnect he had already been feeling from his father. After graduating high school, Craig spontaneously headed to Minnesota to have a whirlwind romance, or two, before ultimately returning home a few months later. A move to Salt Lake City led to meeting his first wife, the adoption of his first daughter and the birth of his second daughter. Craig reflects on the joys he experienced while being a stay-at-home dad for several years, while continuing to hustle with part-time jobs to help support his family. After moving the family back to Grantsville, Craig eventually became a corrections officer and ultimately a police officer. His insight into both experiences is riveting, as is the story of why he was fired. After the divorce from his first wife, Craig married his current wife Stephanie and they became a family of six, with Craig becoming a father to his third daughter and son. Life after leaving law enforcement resulted in a spiritual awakening that led Craig to ThetaHealing as well as the “Energy is Love” podcast, where he would host various guests from the spiritual and healing world, in addition to sometimes co-hosting with Stephanie. A pivotal moment in Craig’s life was discovering the Evryman men’s organization, followed by a year of intensive therapy using MDMA that both he and Stephanie participated and flourished in. Craig shares how the therapy, in addition to microdosing psilocybin, opened the door for the couple to live their most authentic life. A move to Tennessee followed, where the couple built the studio for their current project, “The Steph & Craig Show” podcast, which is a culmination of their life’s journey, work and healing that was created to connect, resonate and help people feel understood. We also touch on the importance of a woman’s partner putting in the effort to educate themselves about perimenopause in order to be a truly supportive partner. We loved going on the ride of Craig’s story, and look forward to becoming regular listeners of “The Steph & Craig Show” to continue to learn and be inspired!
