In this episode we welcome Lisa Concepcion, The Love Coach. Lisa shares about her childhood growing up with one foot in The Bronx, NY and another foot on Long Island, NY as she split her time between her father and step-mom and her mother and step-dad. After attending Rutgers University in New Jersey, where she met her first husband, Lisa began working and eventually landed a job in Public Relations in Manhattan. A separation from her husband led to a move to Miami, where she had her own Carrie Bradshaw lifestyle in Miami Beach. After her divorce, Lisa began her own healing journey which inspired her to become a certified life coach. She then began dedicating herself to helping her clients heal through inner child work, resolving codependency issues and embracing self-love. This immersive work invariably leads her clients to the healthy relationship they are seeking. We discuss hookup culture, her clients desire for traditional relationships and the insidious nature of dating apps. Lisa touches on how she is helping GenX married couples save their marriage, many of whom are facing the challenges of perimenopause and menopause. Through her "tough love" approach combined with a side of humor, Lisa holds nothing back when it comes to clearly communicating the steps her clients need to take to achieve their personal and relationship goals.
